Terms of Use

Last updated: October 4, 2026

Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use apply to the Shakuhachi Music app and to the music and other content offered in it. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

Your license to the application software is also governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement, the standard terms Apple applies to a licensed application. These Terms add the rules for the music collection, the subscription, and use of the content. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Description of the App

Shakuhachi Music is an app for listening to a music collection. The app can be downloaded without a charge. Some tracks in the collection can be played without a subscription. Other tracks require Premium. The collection can grow over time.

Free Content

Selected tracks may be played without a subscription. Which tracks are free belongs to the collection as it is offered at the time, and that selection may change. Availability of a free track, or of any particular number of free tracks, is not a permanent promise.

Premium Subscription

Premium is an auto-renewable subscription billed once a year. While the subscription is active, you may play the Premium tracks offered in the collection, including Premium tracks added while the subscription is active.

The subscription is personal access to listen. It is not a sale of the recordings, the artwork, or the app, and it does not transfer ownership of them.

Billing and Renewal

The price, currency, and applicable taxes are presented by the App Store when you subscribe. These Terms do not set a fixed price. The app shows the price it receives from the App Store through StoreKit.

Payment is charged to the Apple ID used for the purchase. The subscription renews for another year unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, following the App Store terms that apply to the purchase. Apple handles the renewal charge.

Managing or Cancelling a Subscription

You manage or cancel the subscription in Apple’s subscription settings, such as the Apple ID subscriptions list on the device or the App Store account. Cancelling stops the next renewal. Access ordinarily continues until the end of the period already paid for, under Apple’s rules for that purchase.

Deleting the app does not by itself cancel the subscription. Restore Purchases asks the App Store to refresh the subscription status on that device. It does not by itself start a new charge.

Refunds

Refunds of App Store charges are handled by Apple under Apple’s applicable refund process. The developer does not receive your complete payment-card details through the app and does not run a separate card refund for those charges. If a refund changes what you are entitled to, the app follows the status Apple reports.

Content and Intellectual Property

The app and the recordings, artwork, and text supplied with it are offered for listening and reading inside the app. These Terms do not state that the content is in the public domain, that it is licensed under a Creative Commons license, that a copyright has been registered, that the developer holds exclusive rights in every country, or that a particular method of creating a recording guarantees that copyright applies. What protection exists is determined by applicable law.

You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to play the content in the app for as long as you have access to it. Free tracks follow the free offering. Premium tracks follow an active subscription.

Permitted Personal Use

You may listen for your own personal, non-commercial use through the app. You may use the listening features the app provides, including favorites and resume, on devices where the app is installed and the App Store recognizes your access.

Prohibited Uses

Except where a law that cannot be waived allows it, you may not:

Changes to the Music Collection

The music collection may change. Tracks may be added, removed, or moved between the free offering and Premium. Future additions may be included. The subscription is access to the Premium tracks offered while it is active. It is not a promise that one fixed list of tracks, or one fixed number of free tracks, will remain available unchanged.

Availability of the App

The app is provided as it is available on the App Store. Platform requirements, maintenance, and the countries where the App Store offers the app may affect playback. Features that depend on the App Store need Apple’s services to be reachable.

Disclaimer

To the extent consumer law allows, the app and its content are provided as they are available. Uninterrupted playback on every device is not guaranteed, and the collection is not guaranteed to stay the same. These Terms do not exclude a right or a remedy that consumer law says cannot be excluded.

Limitation

To the extent the law allows, the developer is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app, or from an inability to use it. Where the law limits how far that kind of exclusion may go, this section applies only within that limit. A remedy that the law does not allow to be waived remains available.

Changes to Terms

These Terms may be updated. The date at the top will change. Continued use of the app after updated Terms are provided in the app means those Terms apply to that later use. If you do not agree, stop using the app and, if a subscription is active, manage it through Apple.
